Bold News Analysis

About

Bold News Analysis is an English-language publication about reading public-affairs coverage with care. It is for people who want to understand how a story makes its case, not simply collect more headlines.

What we examine

We look at claims, evidence, context, framing and uncertainty: the parts of a story that help readers see how an account is built. Our subjects are the habits and choices of news analysis, rather than advice about what political position to take.

Who it is for

The publication is for curious general readers, whether they follow the news closely or return to it in small intervals. We aim to make useful distinctions clear without assuming specialist knowledge or asking readers to accept a conclusion on trust.

How we approach a story

We slow down over the wording and reasoning. A claim is not the same as proof; a quote does not automatically establish its surrounding context; and an early account may leave important questions open. We explain what an analysis can show and where its limits remain.
